I have had 3 boyfriends in my life. But, I hate the way that their mothers perceive me. I was only with my first BF for a month, my second BF for almost 4 years (on and off type deal) and my third BF for 3 months. I believe that all of their mothers perceived me negatively. I worry that their judgements of me influence how my BFs think of me. I remember BF #2 mom said, "She never has anything to say to me." And then BF #3 mom was like "She said more the first time I met her. (I met her like 2 or 3 times total.) And shortly after I met my 3rd BF's mom, he broke up with me.
It really freakin' bugs me. So I don't gossip, I don't like small talk. It can take me a year or more to warm up to some people. But, it's not like I am unfriendly. I smile and laugh at jokes (and I genuinely find them funny and cute) but I am still perceived as snobby and bitter.
Has anyone had negative experience with SO parents?
