sincerity

It's recently occured to me how much difficulty I have speaking sincerely to someone face to face. This sounds terrible, but it's almost as though it pains me a little bit every time I have to say something sincerely. For example I can find it quite difficult to pay people compliments- I'm talking about males here as well as females (actually I probably find it slightly easier with females). Does anyone else have sincerity-related issues? I want you to look me in the eye and tell me that you don't[/i]

I can do it if I already got comfortable enough to start a conversation, but I can't do it randomly... that's the hard part. It's gotta be purely 'on topic' or else I'm scared of coming off as a dick and/or asshole. Even though there's never been a time in the history of the whole world where somebody went "Why the FUCK did you just pay me a compliment for no reason?!?".
