SA is hard by itself

But I get so tired of going out in public all the time SOLO... i know everyone does stuff by themselves eventually

But it seems like every time i go out (alone) which is the norm, the rest of the world is coupled off or in groups of friends.
When did that happen, and why cant that happen to me??

Being in college it seems like you just do whatever to get by. My roomates do their own thing, and so do i. Except mine usually consists of me grocery shopping, working out, getting food (always to go, never to dine in) ...ALONE. I dont think i will move up to the next stage of recovery if im always by myself and not socializing that much or as little as i can...

Sometimes I wish life was like the tv show Friends...

Hi pp. I went through much of the same when I went to college, doing most things alone until my third year. That's when I got lucky and had a really cool roommate. We were able to do some daily things together which lead to us hanging out more, and through him I was able to relax and have a bit of company with chores and errands, the stuff you feel awkward doing alone. He was my only friend there though, as I wasn't able to form friendships from classes. Have you tried tentatively asking if either of your roommates would like to do something? It wouldn't have to be anything major, just going for dinner or what have you. That way you can hopefully loosen up with them a bit and if they're decent enough people they'll meet you halfway like that. College presents you with good social opportunities in that way and it's definitely worth trying to make an effort with your roommates, because now I'm through with college I'm noticing it's harder than ever to meet people.

The second person who posted is right, maybe you have to begin the friendship for it to work.

I feel this exact same way. It would be amazing to have those five friends there for you every day.
And it's quite possible, yet because no one other than us seems to want it no one can achieve it.
