He met me at a very strange time in my life. ;p
In all seriousness, though, he honestly did. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be around right now. He is the only friend that I have ever had that has not let me down repeatedly in some way- he always keeps his promises. If he knows that he can't do something, he won't make a promise, but will /still/ try the best that he can. I'm so very lucky and thankful to have him. I've never met someone so compassionate, willing to communicate and confront issues, so accepting of others, intelligent (he knows a lot about a lot), and so readily willing to give of himself. It astounds me that he has been through so much in his life and yet he still has hope, still believes in being a good person, still believes that perhaps change in possible. Quite an inspiration. I am beyond blessed to know him. I only hope that I am a quarter as good of a friend to him and my other friends as he is to me.
