Severe Headaches

I saw a doctor for this in High School (Bad Experience). I told him that I feel like my skull is going to explode, there is so much pressure. It's like my brain is swelling. He didn't think anything was wrong with me.
.........The severe pain went away. This was a pretty short episode. I still have a headache but it's very manageable right now-Thank God!

If I were you I'd see a different doctor, just to get a second opinion. It seems odd that you were just dismissed like that.
Apparently they're using botox to reduce constant headaches now?

If this continues, I will have no choice but to see a doctor. As long as it's not ice pack severity, I can deal.........we'll see.

Do you think it is stress? I get haeadaches too when I am stressed out. I had a cousin who had those horrible headaches like you described the brain doctor could not find anything wrong after all the scans and check ups. Ultimately he saw a shrink (he was a teenager like you then) apparantly it was due to some trama. Unknown though he was under great stress that was probably the trama. Later when he grew older the headaches started going away.

You might be having migraine headaches. If you're able to see a neurologist, they can do tests to diagnose and get you on a treatment program for the pain. Could possibly be sinus issues as well. Hope you're able to get it under control!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I think stress is playing a huge role. I don't suffer from general anxiety but right now I feel very stressful and anxious. I feel that everything is caving in on me, all at once.
@Fighter 86....I think you're right. I'm feeling very trapped and life just seems pointless. But, I am trying! I saw a doctor for the first time (about my issues) two weeks ago and I am taking prozac. I may be on the ropes but I'm swinging for my life!

Have you had an MRI or CT done? You should request a copy when they do it. More often than not, people have to bounce from doctor to doctor, getting second, third, fourth opinions before they even get a reasonable diagnosis let alone a treatment that works. The first step is to snag a copy of your scans.

I suffer from constant migraines. I've been to the doctor, went through a series of tests & his conclusion was that I should see a therapist. I was referred, they've called but I can't seem to bring myself to set up an appointment.

You should definitely see a therapist, it will help. Having someone to talk to always helps.

No, I never had that done.......Luckily, the headaches are gone!

I'm sorry to hear about your headaches returning. I am no stranger to the headaches & migraines.

I would say if you can, see a doc, like others have suggested. I also heard that Botox is being used for certain migraines.

Oftentimes, my eye waters as well. I recall seeing an episode of Dr. Oz regarding the different types of headaches but unfortunately can't recall ...

But first and foremost, try to see a doctor to get to the root of the problem.

*Update.. My severe headaches are gone. I still get headaches but not where I need an ice pack. I can deal with what I have now.

I have no idea where those headaches came from. Before my latest episode the last time I had them was in High School. It literally feels like my brain is pushing against my skull..............Good thing they're gone again!

If headache becomes frequent and the pain is becoming unbearable, I think it's much better to see the doctor. There are a lot of possible causes of headache and problems with your eyes can be one of them.

You're right, it's best to see a doctor. But luckily, the headaches left almost as soon as they appeared. I still get headaches, but the normal type.

If it returns again, I'll see a doctor.

I think you should see a doctor ASAP. I take motrin for mine and if that dont touch it i take a hydrocodone. If the doc brushes it off as nothing see a different one.

Migraine has been the scourge of my life

I've been three years free of this for the first time ever
I've been wondering why... medication consists of many... 8. One for high blood pressure...
I thought pregabalin (lyrica) might be the solution, as it's the new addition. The statistics show today. I reccommend

checking the thesaurus... scourge is labelled as mass unemployment
