Ugh, that sounds like a nightmare birthday. Can't you let her know that you don't like big party crowds with strangers and that's a horrible birthday present for you? I guess I'm lucky my family is introverted and would never think of planning a big party... my birthdays have never involved anyone but immediate relatives.
Everyone's selfish to an extent. Nobody wants to suffer that much discomfort for the sake of others, and nobody should have to. There are other options between being a huge socialite and a hermit in a cave.
