Second Life is helping Social Phobics

I tried it out once, was bored shitless hahaha

Psychologist Craig Kerley called Second Life "a great practice ground," adding, "One of the beautiful things about Second Life is that, if you get yourself in a situation you feel uncomfortable with, you just hit the power switch, and you've disappeared."

Kerley's brick-and-mortar practice is outside Atlanta, but he also treats patients inside Second Life, through his avatar, also named Craig. He charges a very real $100 per session. He also runs free support groups on issues such as social anxiety.

hmmm fishy, for a start if he is working with an agorophobic, video games just make things worse (trust me I know!) as you escape reality, games dont help you learn to accept it. Also he says about clicking the off button to get out of the situation that makes you feel uncomfortable, anyone who has SA agorophobia etc and is healing from it knows that the exposure and dealing with being uncomfortable are the eventual cure!

I don't see social phobia mentioned, just agorophobia, I've suffered both and they are very different

I know alot about MMOs (massively multiplayer online games) second life being on of these, I have written articles on a MMO site about immersion in the virtual world and how it can cause depression/anxiety by escaping reality.

Anyone ever played a game so much that you dream it? that's when you need to seriously tone things down and get out more!
