I tend to think that any time somebody says something rude to me, or gives me a weird look, or acts impatient or annoyed with me, that it must be my fault. I figure I must deserve whatever the I get. I know that isn't true, that sometimes I am just dealing with a rude person who has their own problems, and sometimes there isn't a thing I can do about it. But I tend to assume that I caused the other person's foul mood.
How can I be a socially conscious person who cares about other people's feelings, without worrying about every dirty look or rude remark that comes my way?
