Robinul Dose

I tried Robinul a little over a year ago 2mg twice a day and saw no results. I found the bottle a few weeks ago before I was heading to a wedding and thought I'd give it another try. I took 6mg and was completely dry for 2 days. I've seen where most people take 4 mg daily or less... anyone take a dose higher than 4 mg? I know the max daily dose is 8mg but I was just curious if anyone takes 6 or 8mg daily???

So did you take the 6mg for once at a time or 3 2mg doses? I can't find this med anywhere in my country it's so sad to know you're going to do the surgery yet there was something u never tried

Through the winter I took 4 mg. when needed. As it warms up, I often take 6mg. No big problems.

Rexus- I took 6mg all at one in the morning. Have you tried to get the med at an online pharmacy?

Margiehope- do you take the robinul daily or just for special occasions? Do you take it all at once or break the doses up throughout the day? Also how long have you been taking Robinul for?

I've taken Avert (Cdn. brand name) for about 4 years. I change dosage depending on the weather and my level of activity, but--it's best to take an hour before eating. (You can do it 2 hours after eating, too, but who can remember that?)

So, I take whatever dose seems needed when I wake up, then putter around for a while before breakfast.

On the hottest stickiest day of the year, I might take another 2 mg. later in the day.

One thing to be aware of is that the med stops you sweating, NOT from overheating. So I try to keep fluids up etc. when it's really hot.

Thanks for the advice... anyone know if your body can build up tolerance to the drug??? Also if you don't mind me asking where are you affecting from you hyperhidrosis. I'm mainly affected on my hands/feet/underarms but in super stressful situations I sweat pretty much all over! Thanks again

My HH is mostly craniofacial.

After several years, no change in reaction to med.

Interesting. I take 2mg twice/day. one when i wake up and another at lunch. seems to work for me. when i got the rx my doctor told me taking anymore than that wouldn't have any additional benefit. works great for my hands taking 4mg total, underarms still a little drip but not too bad.

I have been taking 4mg avert pretty much on a consistant basis now since october of last year. Its absolutely incredible what this drug does for me. I used to sweat heavily on the face, armpits, groin, and of course hands / feet extremely bad. It was a joke whenever iw as in a stressful situation or in a particular scenario where I knew there would be social interaction.. I'd literally be dripping. If I went to a party or some type of social gathering I would actually carry a small towel in my pocket just so i could wipe my face off every 2 minutes.. pretty sad. Oh and I don't dare dance or move around, I lift my arms up and theres 2 big stains from sweat there.. fun times! Hold hands or touch another person? forget about it! but now that's all changed!

The side effects I notice is some dry mouth, and dry nose. I pick my nose a hell of a lot now lol. but its nothing that isn't tolerable. Another thing, there is a few days where i'll skip a dose knowing that I don't have work, or that I'm not going out and I'm just chilling around the house.. the next time I start my dosage, it seems to have a "build up" period. For example, if I don't take any avert for a day or two and then on the 3rd day take my 4mg, it might not even work that day at all.. its the NEXT day when I take another 4 mg, that it really kicks in. seems like it takes longer for my body to take affect from it or something as opposed to others. I haven't tried taking 6 mg right off though, and THEN back to 4, but who knows. Once its in my system, it lasts all day when taken in the morning!

I'd highly suggestion trying this drug if you already haven't.. at first I was kind of skeptical myself, but I'm soooo glad I gave it a shot. I will never again have to worry about sweating! =)
