Rejection

Well I went with my sister to her friends wedding today. I was nervous at first but as soon as we got to the party in a hotel and I got some Jack Daniels and beer down my neck I loosened up. Things were going great and I was dancing the night away. One of the bridesmaids who was accompanied by a guy who turned out to be her brother was also on the dancefloor, so I put out my hand to invite her to dance with me and she said ''no, no'' and walked off the dance floor. I spent the rest of the night sat in a corner with a face like thunder.

Ugh. I would have just left after something like that happened, and headed for my room or wherever was the nearest most comfortable place.

Maybe you are not as attractive as you thought?
Now that's not very nice :? ! Recluse, I can understand your feeling rebuffed. But it is also a very good possibility that the girl just had to to to the ladies' room, or her feet hurt, or maybe she was just a bitch. It doesn't necessarily have to mean that it was you personally. I think it's great that you were out there dancing and having a good time, even if you had to get a little bit tipsy first :) . Lots of us here would be scared stiff to even get out there an dance. Try not to take it personally, and I hope you will not let that stop you from asking other girls to dance. Most guys don't like to dance, so most girls would be happy to find one that does.

Dancin' Fool by Frank Zappa

Don't know much about dancin'
That's why I got this song
One of my legs is shorter than the other
'N' both my feet's too long
'Course now right along with 'em
I got no natural rhythm
But I go dancin' every night
Hopin' one day I might get it right
I'm a dancin' fool, I'm a
Dancin' fool
I hear that beat; I jump outa my seat,
But I can't compete, 'cause I'm a
Dancin' fool, I'm a
Dancin' fool

The disco folks all dressed up
Like they's fit to kill
I walk on in 'n' see 'em there
Gonna give them all a thrill
When they see me comin'
They all steps aside
They has a fit while I commit
My social suicide, I'm a
Dancin' fool, I'm a
Dancin' fool
The beat goes on
And I'm so wrong
The beat goes on
And I'm so wrong
The beat goes on 'n' I'm so wrong
The beat goes on 'n' I'm so wrong
The beat goes on 'n' I'm so wrong
I may be totally wrong, but I'm a
Dancin' fool, I'm a
Dancin' fool
*Youwsa, youwsa, youwsa*
I got it all together now
With my very own disco clothes, hey!
My shirt's half open, t'show you my chains
'N' the spoon for up my nose
I am really somethin'
That's what you'd prob'ly say
So smoke your little smoke
Drink your little drink
While I dance the night away, I'm a
Dancin' fool, I'm a
Dancin' fool, (etc., etc.)

I may be totally wrong, but I'm a
I may be totally wrong, but I'm a
I may be totally wrong, but I'm a
FOOL-uh!

*Hey darlin'...can I buy ya a drink?*
*Lookin' for Mister Goodbar? Here he is...*
*Wait a minute...I've got it...You're an Italian!*
*Hah?*
*Yer Jewish?*
*Love your nails...you must be a Libra...*
*Your place or mine

i would have just wanted to get the hell out of there, if that happened to me i would have felt that everyone in the room was laughing at me, no way i could have stayed it that room, i'd have have to sneak out quietly though with as little people as possible noticing.

credit to you for trying though, that took real guts

Rejection Issues

You know in life we find that when someone we are uncomfortable with seeks us out we can sometimes turn them down.

Not thinking of their feelings.

Yet if someone we are attracted to does this to ME, then its the end of the world.

Rejection happens to everyone. Sadly.

Issue is: can I accept this with diminishing my self esteem and ego?

I have found, slowly that its possible to let go.

Well I think that everyone were too drunk to really notice anyway, I felt ashamed though and she ignored me then through the rest of the night and didn't say good bye to me only to my sister. I just sat in the corner feeling sorry for myself and spent a lot of the night sitting outside.

I was tipsy. That's how I had the guts and she seemed a nice girl.
