Intimidated? No. Just sentimental and envious. When I find out they don't listen to metal I just get plain annoyed. I'd love to grow my hair long, but I look like a balding pig instead. Maybe I should go for the crazy hermit look instead?

And I'm not a woman. But as one who appreciates longer hair I felt the urge to reply.
