Question on language?

Browsing through the posts on Social Phobia World, I've noticed the many alternate spelling conventions used by people, such as: OMG, LOL, smileys, lack of apostrophe, U, R, 2 etc. etc.

Do you think we are going to see more of this type of spelling in the future? So that soon evrything is gonna b cut down 4 sake of speed (lik dis?)

I took a speedwriting class in HS, I don't think shorthand will replace language too much cuz after a while it just gets too stupid to be all that big.

And some goodie goodies will always capitalize the beginnings of their sentences, and add correct punctuation.
