Perhaps this is a silly comment and revealing of my own state of mind ...however, having looked at photographs of members both here and in the album, my thoughts are that...
-all of these people are either very good-looking or give me the immediate impression of being normal and socially successful.

Like I said, perhaps this is a silly comment. Yet, if I were to see one of the people in these photos down the street, I would be inclined to think that only I had social problems and that the person (in the photo now walking down the street) was 'perfect' or otherwise just couldn't have a problem like mine.

...weired that I judge based on appearance, thinking that if this is good that others by comparison to me are confident and well-to-do. I suppose that that is part of the insecurity and it is called 'social anxiety' afterall.

I guess this thread is over but I forgot to say I agree w/ others who mentioned that certain pictures didn't look like the person was insecure and trying to get out of it, although I didn't mind if they thought they looked great and wanted to post their picture as long as they're not annoyingly arrogant.
yes you are digging up a fairly old argument but I kinda wanted to comment on that too. So what if people are proud of the way they look? Doesn't mean they are comfortable in social situations. Everyones good at something...

that's a good point moodygoo, that not only is it ok to be proud of the way you look but that just b/c you're confident in that, it doesn't mean you're confident in talking to others although I know certain others only wanted to comment on it which is alright and they had a point, and also I didn't see how posting your pic is going to help you overcome your SA either as others can still not like you when they see your picture which is the whole point of your condition or issue, isn't it? Anyhow that's all I had to comment on.

Wow, I just read this whole thread. Every single picture was great. All of you are very brave to post your pictures on the internet. I just wish maybe someday I will have the courage to post my own picture. At this rate, I don't think it will ever happen. I just don't have enough self-confidence to show myself. I'm just too damn skinny. That, and I am paranoid that somebody will recognize me.
