Hi everyone I'd really love suggestions from anyone who likes any of these as to which song or songs you think would be appropriate to play at a funeral - the person who passed away loved the first two particularly - so id really like to do him proud. Im not a fan so could use some ideas :)

If no one answers I wont be offended - just thought i'd try :)

Wish you were here is a good one. Written for Syd Barret the original lead of Pink Floyd after he lost his mind. A classic, don't know about the grateful dead or the doors though Im sure they have some amazing tracks. Give them a listen, find some meaning in them, pick a good one.

wish you were here is the best one. the doors didn't really have much that would be appropriate at a funeral. possibly riders on the storm ...but i think that would be pushing it kinda.

how about an instrumental of Memory? I think that was done by Andrew Lloyd Webber for Cats.

You're right that The Doors dont have ones that match a funeral really. I've been asking around and people say you dont need one thats suitable for funeral just choose one he liked. I would feel better if it matched the situation though. Memories is a good one - Thanks.

I have been looking at Andrew LLoyd Webbers music and Pie Jesu - Requiem is really, really beautiful. But not sure my ex wouldve gone for it. Our song was: Thats All I Ask Of You - by The Phantom of the Opera.

I shouldnt listen Andrew Lloyd Webber as his music stays in my head for days after :) when i wake up to when i sleep especially Tell Me On A Sunday.

I have found the songs :)

1) Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again - Andrew Lloyd Webber

2) Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

3) Dancing With Tears In My Eyes - Ultravox

I'm gonna get his favourite teams football shirt and get his name written on the back and wear it on the day. Maybe his six year old daughter will wear hers too.

Thanks NP88 and Agent Violet for helping me :)
