Panics out of the blue?

I used to always hate getting the bus as it triggered much anxiety, but as I kept doing it, I was at ease.
Yesterday I saw the bus coming, and all of a sudden I started to freak out. I started feeling light-headed, heart pulpitating and going into panic mode.
Why this happend is beyond me, it came from nowhere. Has anyone got used to certain situations where you're comfortable and next thing you know, you're having a panic attack?

I can understand that! Seems panic attacks can come out of nowhere. Sounds like you were able to cope well.

Man I had the same issue with the buses when I started getting panic attacks which was 7 years ago now. I remember waiting for the bus and I could see it coming down the road and then all of a sudden I was terrified to get on like I was the centre of attention and everyone was goin to stare at me, then I sort of calmed myself but then other occassions I would hate it if any1 sat next to me on the bus and I would feel this ernormous force inside like I just wanted to push them away from me but I couldn't move. I would always freeze when I was sat down every muscle would hurt cos I was just too scared to move and there was a number of occassions when I just was that full of fear that I wanted to get off the bus (on the way to work) and just walk home but I didnt simply cos I couldnt afford to lose my job. But yeh the bus was ok some days and worse on others, you have to keep facing your fears and you will defeat it! Trust me, I thought they'd never go!
