Nothing to say to people

I've been diagnosed socially phobic, but was wondering if other people with the disorder have the problem with not having anything to say to people?

yep, that's me, that's usually my problem 95% of the time. I probably wouldn't even be that socially phobic if I felt like I had something saying. But I don't, and I'm not usually great at thinking of things to say when I'm already in a conversation.

Yeah think it's my biggest problem too, just can't stand those awkward silences, they just kill me. Dread it every time i have to interact with someone, and it always seems to happen!, hahaha

really is astonishing about how all these behaviours that are either difficulty learned or completely foreign come naturally to almost every other person.. :(

I kind of have this problem too. But if you think about what other people are saying, they kind of aren't saying anything. They just talk about how they're feeling or what they did that day. Usually it really isn't anything interesting at all. You really don't have to come up with anything great to say.

even if I didn't have social anxiety I still wouldn't have anything to talk about with people, so it doesn't bother me.

I have this problem too quite a lot. I don't want to come across as boring or dull, but another problem I have is i'm afraid to talk sometimes. Especially when it's quiet. I have this fear that my voice sounds strange, and people do have problems hearing me sometimes. My hope is my voice hasn't fully 'broken in' yet.

That is exactly how i feel, i used to have that voice problem too when i was a bit younger, kind of feels as though your voice just blends in with the background.

Thanks that great advice, i'll try and take it on board.
