my situation makes socializing difficult

i live in a small town. i don't work or go to school. most of my days are spent at home, writing, painting or on the computer. it's not likely i'm going to meet a potential friend at the grocery store. there is almost no opportunity to meet people. does anyone have a similar situation?

I hear ya. I'm often in the same situation because I get to travel quite a bit. so I might have a few useful suggestions for you.

Are there clubs or volutneering organizations in your town that you might be able to join? Have you checked meetup groups around your area? Have you considered taking a night class at your local college? (some fine arts courses maybe)
