my only problem

so i definitely identify with all the symptoms of social anxiety. i haven't had the disorder my whole life, but ever since i've been in a miserable/anxiety provoking situation. anyway, part of my problem is that when i stop thinking "this is gonna sound stupid" "this person is mad at you" etc... i feel 100x better and all my symptoms disintegrate, but for some reason, i literally can't stop thinking that stuff. i am over those thoughts, i recognize that they're false, and they are no longer threateing to me. i really want to lay these thoughts down, but i truly can't. my therapst says that when something keeps nagging at you and you can't lay it down or let it go, that means something in ur life is still bothering you. is this part of social anxiety? is this "not letting go" problem ocd? is this just an anxiety trait? would medication help this?

Sounds like anxiety. I guess it could be OCD if it was extreme, but I think OCD tends to be much worse. Medication might help, but medication should only be used as a TEMPORARY aid as you learn to deal with things better.
