Do you use this professional type of social site? It means recruiters and no others, to me.

I wonder what people's motives are when I receive invitations to accept.

Today I saw one person's foreign invitation. As accepting that, the webpage kept auto-scrolling, displaying hundreds of random invitations to accept.

I eventually gave up, and regretting clicking so many. After that, there were several phone calls at home and mobile, hearing only silence and white noise.

I knew I was targeted about 12 years ago for telesales, etc. That brings a deep hate of phones

Oh I didn't know they use that site for sales. That must be annoying.

Actually I just recently learnt about that site, and was told it was a networking site to connect with people on a professional level.

Does it really help with employment? I'm a final year uni student worried about being able to find something to do after graduating :S
As well as being suggested to go to career fairs, talk to potential employers, start a network of people at a professional level, its sounds so ... intimidating especially for me.

I think it takes a certain amount of career confidence and personal ego to sign up to the website to begin with and it is for Professional workers who have had successful careers it seems. That is my opinion which can be taken any way you feel. I'm sure its helpful for networking and looks good to employers though.
