technically they say not to drink while on SSRI's. This is really only due to the fact that it increases certain effects of alcohol and a very very slim chance of serotonin syndrom. It's okay to drink some while on SSRI's. I've never been on lexapro but I am on celexa right now which is another SSRI and I still drink heavily on it. I've noticed I blackout quicker while drinking on it and once I blackout my drunken behavior is more negative and sometimes violent and I didn't used to be that way when I wasn't on an SSRI. All I can say is be carefull and take it slow.

I don't know if you'd have any desire to drink on your second day. I took Lexapro for the first time yesterday, and I felt horrible. I was drowsy, and my mind felt so foggy. I don't want to worry you though, because everyone is different. Some people have no side effects at all.

I personally wouldn't drink. The precautions specifically advise against it. You don't want to put yourself in a precarious position, especially until you know how you'll react to the drug.

Drinking is not good during meds taking. But some of them have less painful effect if you can't not to drink :) Maybe you should look something more appropriate here.
