I used to do tests, and classify my problems by disorder type, but I find/found that it confines me.. And made me believe that I was these things.
I admit, when people ask me about my 'problems' I will say that I have pure-obsessional ocd, mild (social) anxiety, and mild depression... But in the end.. I know that these things ARE NOT WHO I AM. They may be a part of me, but they are not me as a whole!
We are all unique individuals. And just because NIMH decides that some of our traits are representative of Social Anxiety, OCD, Avoidant Personality Disorder.. Or WHATEVER.. Doesn't make it you.
I feel that.. When we let these things be us.. We get lost in it.. And forget that we're actually 'normal' people. And that makes it a lot worse than it actually is. So we think a bit too much, we're afraid of being judged, we get sweaty palms.. meh! We're only human.
I know this is kinda random. I'm just trying to say.. Don't let your 'disorder' be all that you are. It's okay to be anxious, shy, fearful, or count something one too many times! To know that your 'disorder' is not the whole of you.. Will do a lot of good.
p.s. if you are grumpy after reading this because.. "You already know" don't bother replying, if you have nothing good to add.
