Labeling yourself

I have a kind o paranoya about people labeling me.
If I'm at a restaurant and I'm with my dad I think everybody are perceiving us as a gay couple.
When I'm with sunglasses I think old people are perceiving me as a gangster or criminal.
If I look to a kid and then to their parents I think they are perceiving me as a pedophile.
When I'm going alone to a nice restaurant I think everyone is perceiving me as a poor person trying to be someone. If I go to a fast food store, I think they are perceiving me as a rich arrogant person.

I'm always labeling myself. Never ending. And sometimes I can't change the mental process in any way for the entire event:
eating dinner alone in public - crazy solitary person

Do you feel this way?

Yea I think of that stuff too sometimes. learn to live with it or get over it I guess? Just an idea.

Yeah, people label each other all the time. It's called forming a first impression. It may not be correct but people do it. Don't think about it. Spend your time thinking about something more important. Like a diet - I notice you mention food a lot.

Just a first impression there, I'm sorry.

Yeah i understand the class issue (too poor for some, too rich for others) it seems that not many others seem to have the problem, they are either loudmouths (poor) or snobs (rich)!

I can relate on a lot of those. I try to only go out in groups of 4 ore more so that I wont stand out at all... but its hard finding that many people to hang out with.

I definitely get like this. I'm paranoid about people thinking I'm a lesbian. Like if I am out with one of my female cousins, I don't want people thinking that we're together like that.

Question: Why should it affect you what other people THAT YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW AND WILL NEVER SEE AGAIN are thinking about?? They're probably not even thinking about you. If I see a guy walking down the street with a weird limp or something, I'll think "Hmm...a guy with a weird limp" Then I'll go onto thinking about something completely different and he'll never cross my mind again.

If I see someone at a movie alone, I think "Look at that he's all alone.." Then I'll watch the movie and not think about him ever again.

Everyone is this way, except a select few but just ignore them. It's your life, live it the way YOU want and don't let other people's opinions affect you!! :)
