Knowing that others feel the same...

How do you use the knowledge that other people are sharing the same (odd and irrational) feelings, fears and anxieties around social situations to make yourself more comfortable with yourself and social situations?

It is one thing to know that you aren't alone, but how do you use that to get over your own fears?

Yes,I usually think of that so as to feel comfortable when I'm anxious of social interactions. It helps sometimes, but other times it doesn't. That's the weird thing about SA,we know what's right and wrong,we know that everyone has problems of shyness etc. but we still can't overcome our anxiety and feel better.

The knowledge we seek... the knowledge that feeds?

that's a good question. i've been wondering about that myself.

i use thinking about fellow sufferers quite often in extreme situations, like 'there are lots of people in a much worse condition than i am but they still dont give up and fight'
