I've got my jury duty at 2pm its now 12.43 as iam typing this and iam leavin at 1pm and iam absoultly terrifred of not knowing???? i cant stand waiting on things its just gets me really anxious and being in amonsgst a whole load of people in the court aint gonna help much either, i havent slept at all last night and i mean not 1 wink, ive been up, my hands are shaking everything seems echoy in my head and i feel so unreal, ive not felt this bad in a long time I just hope i dont pass out in the court lol i havent had anything to eat all morning which i know wont help but i feel to anxious to eat.

One part of me reallly wants to do this, it will be like overcoming a hugh step but the other part is telling me to run? I asked my dad to phone in sick for me (he dosent know my real condition) i told him i feel too tired but he said they wont go for it and i'll have to go.

Well its 12.53 (can you tell iam clcok watching lol) tick tock tick tock so i better go get my trainers on a go put so criminals in jail lol

Wish me luck

good luck!

if you want to get out of it, do your hair up like a mohawk and wear a tshirt with the phrase "Guilty as charged" written on it

that way you wont even get past the selection process

Ok iam back al in one piece, not as bad as i was expecting :D as is always the case with me, i have a worst case senario in my head and my fears live off it. After waiting outside the court room for about 45 mins they called us all in there where about 40, then they said that there will be no trial today 8O phone the telephone number after 6 pm to see if you will be required tommorrow :!: Ive got to phone each night now for the next week to see if i will be rewuired for any cases.

Waiting outside the courtroom was the worst part, sitting on a big long marble and cold seat that had about 20 of us on this 1, i felt my self going that panicky way, like will i or wont i? i just wanted to get up and walk out of the place and get back to my car but just as that a drunk scotsman appears (can you belive it? a scotsman who is drunk :p ) and well he kinda provide free entertainment and you felt the whole atmosphere in the hall just drop and everyone sort of laughting queitly to themselves

Iam not too bothered about the rest of the days now, iam kinda looking forward to it, because atleast i have an idea of what i in for.

Thanks for the replies guys, belive it or not while sitting there i was thinking to myself " i hope someone from SPW is thinkkng of me just now" it just gives a sense of invisible help when/if you know people are thinking about you.

Bye :D

Glad it went ok. When I had jury duty, they asked us a lot of (imho personal) questions in front of a whole room full of people. It was horrible. Of course, you could have opted for a private screening by talking to the judge. Like I had the guts to stand up in the courtroom and go "Judge I'd like to do this privately" lol.

hmm if you think jury duty is hard...try being the lawyer doing trial...I have my first jury trial in two weeks...so I will be asking jury members questions and kicking the ones I don't like off. but I can understand how jury duty would be a real nervous thing to go through. I have never had jury duty myself, and being a lawyer..probably never will.
