Is this a good strategy?

Keep trying different methods and strategies until you hit jackpot? Like throwing darts blindfolded, eventually one will hit the target. So, if I keep trying out different strategies to overcome SA (and other life problems) and I write down what works and what doesn't, I will eventually win out? Do you think this works in practice or are the ways of the world just too inscrutable?

hey
i think in some ways this technquie works...if u dont win try and try agen... but only for some things.
I think with SA i have forced myself into situations i didnt want to be in... and they werent actually as bad as i thought
So depending on the situation i think it can =]

I was thinking further on this subject, and perhaps a good analogy would be a general going into battle: he needs a strategy/plan before he engages the enemy, but at the same time he knows that nothing will likely go according to plan, so he needs to be flexible and present to the moment. I think when overcoming SA you need a strategy but also to be able to be flexible when things do not go according to plan (the same goes for life in general - at least that's what chess-playing has taught me). Any thoughts on this?

From my experiences, and from obtained knowledge, Simply going into this blindly and trying random tactics is wishful thinking at best. It is a gremlin inside your mind that usually develops over a few months or years due to several events and factors, so I think the best way to permanently get rid of it in a sense is the long grind. Psychologists, rehab and the like, not just jumping off the deep end and hoping for it to go away, cause rather than fix the problem, you could further drown and social sense.

Even though there are a few short term solutions, and these different strategies you are employing may work for a few days, a leopard doesn't change its spots easily, and thus it is not a sprint, it is a marathon run to rid of this.

That might be a good idea trying something and analyzing the outcome. For SA their are treatment we know that works like CBT and medication. The best strategy would be to follow up on one of these tretment. In the end what ever treatement that you decide upon will require time and dedication. I think most of us with SA lack in dedication. We kind of have a habit of giving up when things become difficult.

The solution to SA is out their we all know it, but we are afraid of following on it.
