Hi,
Thought I'd share what has worked for me over the years. I've used the Fischer MD-1a (1996-2001) and currently am using the Idrostar (since 2001).
1. Instead of the recommended 10 minutes for each polarity (so 20 minutes for each side), I do 15 minutes for each polarity (30 minutes each side). This extra 5 minutes for each polarity seems to enhance the effect of each session.
2. For maintenance sessions, I do 2-3 sessions every 2-3 weeks when temperature is cold; 3-4 sessions over a 2-3 day period every 2-3 weeks when it's hot. I typically do my maintenance sessions towards the end of the week (Fri-Sun) when I have more time. The water level in the trays are just high enough that it covers the problem-sweating areas and does not cover the top of the palms.
3. (perhaps the most important) After I do my maintenance sessions, exercise for an hour wearing a long-sleeve shirt and hold small frozen cans (e.g., tomato juice) in both hands. I've noticed that this seems to "train" the body to divert the sweat to other areas instead of the palms. When I notice that sweat is coming from the top of my hands instead of my palms, that is a sign that this is working for me and reaching a dry palm state doesn't take as long (maybe a couple days instead of the 5-7 days of wetness).
I'm currently in grad school and am in a relationship. I don't think this would be possible if it weren't for iontophoresis and being persistent about it through these years.
Disclaimer: I'm not necessarily recommending any of the above. I'm only sharing what has worked for me.
