I am surrounded by extraverted people. When i went to check in this morning I saw the most attractive guy i've ever seen in my life but when i looked at him he looked at me like "What are YOU looking at."

Maybe its because i was a newb heh. :(

if you have stayed in 1 lemme know. I need advice. The most intimidating place is the kitchen area. Right now people are playing drinking games and nibbling pizza and laughing and being crazy in there. There are six beds in my closet sized room. Also i am a girl.

I am going to live here for 15 days.

Well......I think i am going to bed now. I will check this tomorrow.

I need advice? Thanks in advance.

you are brave. but i guess it will be an interesting adventure you will never forget! what brings you to a hostel, if you don't mind me asking? (sorry if that is too personal.)

Why not think of the whole experience as an exposure exercise and try to drain every bit of positivity out of it that you can. It just might be a life changing experience. Try to make a point of staying positive and see it as a part of your therapy, this might help. Well good luck anyway and try to make the best of it.

Ooooh I know what you mean. I was in a hostel recently by myself and I actually felt kinda 'out of the loop'! SO many people there know each other already though, there are lots of small little already formed groups, so it's bound to be intimidating. You should just go into the TV room and go sit and watch something. Other people are bound to be around and they may strike up convo with you if you feel a bit awkward about it :)

I was not accepted to stay for intercession in my dorms so i had to move out. i am looking for an apartment now.

omg... I would die if I were you D:

I don't think I can live with anyone ever again! Right now I live with my sister and I can just barely stand her. The feeling is mutual I think. Anyways! Good luck girly. Im having a hard time coming up with advice, hopefully you will get comfortable enough to make some friends :) Try to be positive about it... look at it as an opportunity of all sorts <3

I was in a hostel for a year and it was one of the most horrible periods of my life.Granted this was a hostel for homeless kids/teens who frequently had a lot of issues.Violence, drugs and stealing were a daily thing.

So maybe my advice wouldn't be all that great to you as you seem to like the hostel you are in and from the little you have said you don't seem to mind the people you share it with? :)

I guess in that case, enjoy being in like a house full of people your own age and the social life it brings.School/college years are gone before you know it and your only young once.Maybe easier said if you are shy or anxious but if you don't try you might later regret it.I think your really brave for having such a good a positive attitude towards it all.

That being said I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you get a apartment.I managed to enjoy some of my time in the hostel being round people my own age,but it's also hard to have privacy sometimes and a lot of drama goes on,they are okay places to stay for a short while but hard to live for long periods of time.

Two years ago, I stayed in a hostel while traveling alone. I bunked with a sweet Finnish couple, and my envy was hidden as well as possible.

Sounds more like a hostile than a hostel. ::(:

I couldn't do it. I just couldn't live amongst a bunch of strangers like that. I hope your 15 days passes quickly. I'd be counting the minutes, but maybe this experience will actually help with your SP. Hope so.
