I need advice

Hi, i need some advice, for example when i enter a room in my house I have to enter a certain way, for example right foot in first.

Also when I use the computer and I miss type I cant just delete the one word i have to start over, or when putting a video in full screen I have to do a certain amount of times.

Also when drinking I have to take so many sips from the glass and when easting take so many fork falls of food.

I also have a routine for when showering that i have to follow,

I think the compulsions are to do do with number like 1,2,3,4,5,6,,7,8

to do the thing so many times.

However the odd thing is the compulsions slightly change over time and only most effect me when at home or in a place I have been for a long time.

For example when I stayed in London with my sister and her Boyfriend my normal compulsions did not affect as they.

Another odd thing is when I have to e.g turn the light off and on etc so many times it not set how many times i need to do, it like I could just continue and continue unless I force my self to stop and it aligns with a certain number for example 4 or 8 or 16 or 32.

I don't have any problems with germs or washing my hands or problems with touching other people.

I just have the OCD's mentioned above. When I don't do the OCD's I feel like some thing bad will happen however I don't know what it is.

I get anxious and nervous at night however I don't know if that is related, I sometime get depressed and get anxious is social situations, i also have trouble socialising,

what should i do?

CBT. Therapy will teach you ways to challenge your OCD rituals and not have to reassure yourself of the consequences. If you are struggling with depression/anxiety, you could seek medication. Therapy has proven to be the most important part of recovery. OCD is not a psychiatric disorder, it is a behavioral disorder, meaning you can be taught ways to overcome it. Don't ever be afraid to get help with this shit.

hi there. I am not an expert but if I were you I would try and deliberately do something different to try and break the cycle. You are aware of what you are doing, so make a conscious decision to try and change what you do even if this feels strange at first. Good luck.
