I have Social Anxiety Disorder

And I have two events coming up. One on the 21 of the month and one on the 23rd. I need help preparing mentally for these outings. I am trying to break out of my shell and be more social but I am dreading these events. Please help  I just had a recent outing that turned out really badly. The situations that I will be in are a concert where people will be dancing and that always makes me panicky because I don't feel comfortable dancing and so I feel like everyone is watching me. Plus I will be going with a group and one of the guys there always makes me extremely self-critical. The second is an openhouse at my job where lots of people will be coming and I feel just horrible about how I look, and how people perceive me.

welcome to the forums
First of all, you need to talk slowy in all situations. It makes u look more confident & calm & composed. You will also feel less nervous when u talk slowly.
try using CBT, it has done wonders for me ..i have been trying to tell that to everbody who has SA
Do it for at least 30 mins everyday
What situations are you going to face?

I have set up a website to try to help people on this and similar topics, I have tried alot of products to try and overcome SA with little affect, I have found a couple that are definitly worth a look and may be able to help you
