I cannot stand this heart rate anymore

Almost every time I leave my home my heart rate goes to around 120, I feel bad and start to worry. Sometimes I think I am the only person with this terrible heart rate problem. This is the only symptom I hate so much! Tell me about your heart rate - does it go crazy as mine when you leave your homes? Does it worry you?

yes it does go crazy.almost everytime i have to leave the house and do something in public it starts beating faster.but i don't worry about it cause i know is just another way of anxiety to say ' im here',like blushing or trembling...well if that's what u ment about worrying

you should try Propranolol, it kills the heart rate problem. Seems to be a safe drug. You should try it, it could do wonders for you if that's the ONLY anxiety symptom you have

How is your health? Age? Sex? Normal heart rate in an adult can be anywhere from 60-100 BPM. Athletes and people well-conditioned can be lower than this.

I'm not a huge fan of medication, what I would try to do if I were you (assuming you don't exercise regularly) is start exercising. Exercising is already a good way to alleviate stress and anxiety, but also the better you condition yourself the lower your BPM potentially becomes while resting.

The only fix for this is running!
And I'm talking of really running. I'm doing 4km in 19 minutes now and my heart rate is almost normal.

Yesterday I've made a mission to a shopping center and my average heart rate was 86 but I got a peak of 116 at some moment.
Last week I went to more than 200 hearthits while walking at the street.

It used to be very, very worst!

I think physical exercice (aerobic) can really help us.

Really now. Hasn't anybody here heard of yoga till now. Yoga is ideal way of relaxing your heart - chronotropically(rate wise) as well as inotropically(related to force of the beat). Acts just like propanolol but without the side effects it can have over long time. Of course running is another option but that would take its own time to bring out the effect. Its a gradual process. yoga starts acting from day range of 2-7. Thats way faster than running. even propanolol takes its own time. I learnt yoga from here - The International Yogalayam. You can try it out too.

Wow... this is an old thread. This problem is less prominent now since my anxiety is lower than before. My resting heart rate is lower. Meditation, Yoga and physical exercise are great, yes. Physical exercise leads to lower resting heart rate by improving the overall condition of the cardiovascular system. I also use Valerian.
