Hurt

I just had an argument with my parents about something not important to this. Anyway, I never talk about my social anxiety with my parents but when me and my dad were arguing, he mentioned it. Then when I was out of the room I heard my brother saying to my parents, "maybe she has selective mutism, like that guy Cho (VA tech massacre). I'm glad I can lock my door at night". WHAT?! I don't even kill a spider or a mosquito, let alone kill my own family!! I am quite insulted by what he said as it wasn't even in a jokey way. I mean, I'm right to feel hurt by that comment aren't I? Like am I overreacting about it. I didn't say anything but I just ignored my brother when he spoke to me afterwards.

Another similar time a few years ago, my parents were going through my room when I was away on a school trip.. yep they took every opportunity to go through my things. Anyway, when I got back, my parents had conviscated 2 large bottles of water I had in my room. Ok they have a thing about food and drink in our bedrooms, but get this.. they thought I was going to sneak in to their room at night and try to hit them over the head and kill them with the water bottles! It's just like them to jump to conclusions like that. From then on, they always lock their door at night instead of just closing it.

I'm sick of being made out to be this evil person, because I'm not. I just know my parents will never believe that though and it's sad.

By the way, hi I'm new.

Hi!
I know what you mean, I get alot of that s**t.
Usually because I act withdrawn, and the music I listen to.
Also, because people say I draw "grostesque" things, I don't think I do...oh well.
My sisters, and even my Mom think I am strange.

Some people tend to think of people who have social anxiety as people who are anti- social. SA is when you have a fear of being in public & anti-social is when you don't value human life at all (except yours)
