hello,

I'm Chris, 25, from CT.

been inside for too long, and time for me to get out there. So I'm going to try exposure therapy.

battled severe obsessive compulsive disorder for about 4 years, and finally I'm in control of it. I also have generalized anxiety disorder, and depression, and the worst for me, is social anxiety/phobia/shyness. If I wasn't so shy, I believe I would even be depressed, and maybe if I was out more, I wouldn't have obsessed about things, like contamination fears, so I really dislike my shyness, and I'm going to try to overcome it. Actually, I'm going too (I hope)

wish me luck. :)

nice to meet you all. :)

I've been housebound for 5yrs--I just started forcing myself to break free from my world and enter the real world...Driving is an adventure-I suffer from the social phobia and chronic anxiety-good luck-man-

the book that helped me out a bit was the power of the subconsciousness mind by dr. joseph murphy -helped me get back on my feet again-and ready for the challenge .

hi chris! :) best wishes to you!! i've been agoraphobic after a 21 year run of being 'normal' and living a regular life... it hit me pretty hard.. and i've just now really put my exposure therapy in high gear.. i've been forcing myself to go somewhere i don't WANT to go every day! it's difficult, but i just tell myself that 'yeah, i'm going to feel sick, crappy, anxious if i leave my house... but i HAVE to do it' ...it's been getting a liiiittle bit easier and easier with each time.. i don't think it'll be all easy from here, i'm sure i'll have my fall backs, but getting out of the house and doing SOMETHING definitely helps me to feel accomplished and motivated to do it more...

good luck to you! :) i hope you find it to be a really helpful experience!
