High School Reunion - Would You???

Would you ever go back to your high school reunion? That question has been bugging me for awhile. My 25th is coming up. I joined the class membership list in order to see who was still around, which of my many enemies met a cruel and horrible fate (Awwww – LOL!), and to make sure that none were living too close to me. I haven’t communicated with any of my ex-classmates although I do receive their mass emails. They seem ok now. But at 16-17 yrs old, weren’t we all supposed to have some common sense and treat people with decency? They sure didn’t! Why should I feel that they’ve changed? High school was hell - so isn’t going back to the reunion like returning to an abusive relationship? A wife shouldn’t return to her husband who beat her; I shouldn’t have to return to see (lower your voice) “thoooose” people so they can verbally beat me down. They’re probably still idiots. But I’m so curious about them.

Wow, I'm not at a point in my life where I coud do it. That being said, it may be cathardic facing them and putting all of that to rest. By the 25th reunion, everyone's changed sooo much and mellowed and been humbled by life. Maybe the ones you're most anxious about won't even show. If you feel up to it, I say go for it. Put on something fabulous, get a sassy haircut and have some fun. Even if that fun comes from hearing how so and so met his/her fate....

Nope. There's no one that I liked so much or was so close to that I'd want to go back to see them. I don't even think I'll be going to my 5 year one, never mind my 25th.

Highschool may have been a difficult time, but it's not the people that we are to blame, it is ourselves.

i for one, would never go :x ....2 reasons...i suck at socializing and being comfortable in a crowd..and ....i am not in a place in my life where i have a whole lot to say i've accomplished :roll: ...(plus, i didn't hang out with them in high school, seems weird to go hang with them now).....but...if you can go to yours, that is really cool...and it would be pretty brave step 8)

yes and no... No since i only taked a select few people in high school. So i wouldn't be really missing anyone. Yes since i would like to see those few that I talked to, just cause i haven't seen them in soo long. Just to see how they're going. And to see if the junks have gotten all fat and haen't done anything with their lives.

well, it would be a difficult situation. yes and no, i am just worried about my excessive sweating so if i had a surgery and turned normal i would rather to go. as some of you said, there were some nice people at high school, i would like to see those people.

absolutely not!!!!...i remember graduation..I had no one to say bye to except my one best friend and some crappy classmate that felt sorry for me... I was so happy when they lifted the garge door to the stadium and the wind and sun came blowing in my face...I was like one of the first to walk out of the stadium....It was like a sign...that the world was ahead of me.....and there was no need to look back at those people still lingering in the dark garage in the stadium.....I ran up and saw my fam up there..At least I had them !!!! ...well its been 5 or 6 yrs since that time and the stadium was torn down wooohooo!!!! To go back to a reunion would be like giving them satisfaction. i know they don't care really...but I have my self respect .....and I will not undo the promise I made to myself.back then....thats why I never signed up for those reunion sites..never willl

maybe im not experienceing the world like Id like to right now but it way better than all of my 12yrs in pschool....it like the quiet after the storm...maybe a little too quiet..but it better than the storm itself...

I never made it past 9th grade, couldnt handle it and didnt have any support from my family, so I just dropped out.

Never - they hated me and i hated them - i was forced to be there for the time that i was - but after that there was no going back.

Defiantly No….I don’t have any negative issues with school I wasn’t bullied or anything like that, I just faded into the background.
In my School we were only referred to by our surnames, I don’t think anyone at my school could tell you my Christian name.
I really don’t see the point of raking up the past.

I certainly wouldn't. The past is the past and should be left where it is. I'd like to move forward with my life and meeting up with people who I didn't like, even if they have changed..will only remind me of the shy little girl I used to be.

It was so embarassing when I graduated university. After the ceremony, my family kept asking 'where are you friends, we want to meet them'


I had to lie and make up an excuse when all the while I was burning to shout:

I havn't got any friends you fools! You've known me for 21 years. How could you have not worked it out by now."
