I live right next to a huge city. Recently I've had to go into town a lot. I interact with more people than id even like to look at. Every time I come home, I feel like I've just been hit by a semi. Its like sensory overload. I cant seem to get used to it. Cant we all just start some quiet slow-paced commune somewhere and be strange and socially awkward together?

Welcome to my life! I have to deal with this every time I go back to school in Chicago. It's like I get no privacy whatsoever.

It sounds like you are a highly sensitive person. And going into the city is too much stimulation.

Can you take some times out while you are there? You know, just go have a coffee in a corner or some such. That might help you smooth things out.

I would love to have a community like this.

I'm sorry i meant the last part you put up about having a socially, awkward commune that's the part i was talking about. I hate big cities and your prob handling the stress better than I could.;)

Awesome I understand. I think it would be pretty comical in a good way if we all lived in an awkward-people-only community. What would it be called? the reject refuge? but which group is rejecting which group? is the world rejecting us or are we rejecting the world? or is it mutual rejection? I lean toward the last. sorry! just rambling and being silly

I live in the 3rd most densely populated country in the world, my SA just gets so much worse here.

Lets say we're rejecting the world and "normal" people or a mutual rejection would be fine with me also.
