Hi im waine
I am 22 and live in north east england. I first noticed social anxiety when my grandad died when I was 8 years old. I remember the funeral and seeing my grandad just lying there. The next day I was back at junior school and just before assembly that morning everything just changed. I suddenly became aware of being worried about what others thought. Ever since this day I would feel tired every single day, would struggle to get out of bed, wake unrefreshed, unable to get to sleep, extremely slowed down. For the next 12 years I got through school, college and the first two years of uni. My parents had real trouble getting me to get out the house to go. Currently i am unemployed.

I am interested in health, biology, history, geography, art. I like quizzes to test general knowledge. I like to keep fit by running, cycling, weightlifting. I like seeing places on the internet.
I am a quiet guy. My social anxiety is more to do with believing people can see my symptoms of anxiety, having experienced severe symptoms like sweating loads, feeling of having a lump stuck in your throat, clammy hands etc.
I would love to meet people on here that share the same interests as me.

You just named nearly all of my interests. It sounds like you're going to relate to a lot of others here. Good on you for keeping fit, It gives your confidence such a head-start and keeps you from hitting a harsh rock bottom. You must have been pretty close to your grandad, i'm sorry you had to go through that tragedy and then the additional awareness issues which were probably not understood by others. Welcome Waine :)
