I think that my niece has a problem. She's 19. She carries a heavy backpack everywhere she goes. It weighs a ton and is filled with junk, including a piece of wood (I moved it off the floor one time when she was visiting, so no one would trip, and was curious - sorry). Today, I saw her and she was looking for her earrings, which she had placed in her pocket. I told her to empty her pockets (I saw her put them in there). My jaw dropped. She had 4 pockets, and started to empty them - used tissues, wrappers, and an old piece of moldy toast!
As I watched, speechless, she found her earrings, put them on, and stuffed all the garbage back into her pockets!
I'm at a loss. My brother (her dad) thinks she's just a slob (her room is a pigsty). But I think this goes much deeper. Am I wrong?
And another thing - this girl is always looking for an argument. She says things that beg for a debate. What is wrong with her?
