Hi, I'm 18 and just recently heard about SA as an actual condition. I'd always known I had social issues, I just thought it was a part of my personality and I'd be like that forever. I guess finding out that it's an actual medical condition that many other people are struggling with around the world sort of gave me hope that I wouldn't have to deal with this thing forever. It's not just "part of who I am", it's an actual problem that I can overcome. My family seems to think that I shouldn't look at it this way, but somehow, it just gives me more hope.

Anyways, here's hoping I can meet some cool people and find some strategies to overcoming my SA :)

Hi Cappy, welcome to the forum.

I understand what you mean about finding it comforting to think of it as condition rather than just being a part of you. Though I wonder sometimes if it isn't just really a part of me lol.

Anyway, welcome. As the logo says, "You're not alone."
