Whether it's economic pain, or physical pain, yeah, it actually lessens my social phobia, ironically. It gutchecks my pride and forces me to rely on others more and (most frighteningly) expose more of myself to others. But once my circumstance normalizes again, I retreat into my cocoon of reclusiveness. I have extreme social phobia, so my situation may be an outlier though.
