Has anyone Met up through this site?

My name is Gary. I live in Sydney
I just joined this site a couple of days ago to try and connect and meet with others who also have SA.

I want to know if anyone have met eachother through this site, and was it beneficial. I think it would a great milestone to meet up with others with this common obstacle that we have. Its hard enough for me to make new friends and keep my old ones.
I would like to meet anyone who live in the Sydney area for a chat.

i've been seeing some postings about a group meet up but i don't think that people actually commit to it coz alot of people come across this site n then forget about it later on

Yeah, I have seen people post few messages then dissapear forever.

I think most go away because they have got better or overcame the temporary problem they had. I sometime wonder if these people have SP to any significant degree.

As for meetups, I beleive one happned in Sydney few years ago, but AFAIK they never met up again. I guess it was either too stressful for them and I suppose (unfortunately) just because we are all have SP does not mean we will have the same interests or can easily become friends with each other.

I too want to meetup, but unfortunately, only 2 or 3 posters are near me and they don't post anymore.

I suppose if a meetup is to happen it must be around an activity of some sort. Sitting around in a Coffee shop sipping a latte may not be enough keep the stress and awkward silences away. The problem is to find some activity that is not stressfull enough , but also interesting to all the attendees. I have no idea what that activity would be.

Anybody else got any ideas?
