Going to the doctor...

ohh generally i had fairly good experiences with doctors, i seem to view it as a 'safe' place, one where i can open up and know that they have a duty of confidentiality.

however i once had a really bad doctor, whom i told my SA symptoms about. he just diagnosed me with having reflux issues, and i persisted to tell him 'no i dont think so' since i know what reflux feels like. he persisted with his diagnosis and replied "you need to see a psychologist'. he said it in a way that was condescending and mean, not helpful. he still prescribed me reflux meds and he didn't even refer me to a psychologist or anything like that. looks like he just wanted me out of that office. :-/

so yes, I see where you're coming from Lucas...

that doctor that i was talking about was male. i mainly see male doctors, but recently i went to a female doctor and she was very nice/understanding.

I've had surgery for an in-grown toe-nail 4 times... two toes at once one of the times. That time, the crazy doctor kept laughing and saying "I can't feel a thing!"... It hurt so bad, like the pain killers weren't doing anything. :( I'm sure that event, and a number of other slightly less traumatic experiences, are why I don't like going to the doctor... haven't been in several years. :p

I don't like going because I go to a pediatric doctor since I am 16. Basically I have to tell them how much of a loser I am because they ask so many questions about what I do in my free time and that sort of thing lol.
