Going alone to a concert

Last year, when tickets went on sale in DC to see Prince, my only concern was getting a ticket for myself. I wasn’t wasting my money on going with a practical stranger, so I just ordered a single ticket. I’m a loner, but I really wanted someone to go with me to that show. Going alone wasn’t going to stop me, however. About a month later, I found that some people I work with were going and they asked if I wanted to go with them. They weren’t very careful with their wording as I realized they only wanted me to go so that I could drive them in my truck. I declined their sorry invitation! Anyway, I went alone. I arrived almost 2 hrs early and found my seat. Samples of Prince’s music were being played. Then Prince walked onto the stage with a few band members and they played 3 songs – I guess they were practicing. I was loving it! I didn’t care about anyone being with me at that time. It’s their own fault – somehow! About an hour later, he reappeared and the actual show started. The night was fantastic. I still wish (a little) that I had a friend to go with that night, but oh well. I’ll still go to his next concert. Number of tickets: 1.
