Getting better/ Hope for the future

I'm new to Social Phobia/Social Anxiety/Anxiety or at least recognizing that I have it (I haven't been officially diagnosed) and I was wondering if anybody feels like they will never get better or is a afraid to get better cause I've been feeling like that lately and I was wondering if anyone's felt like that and got over it. :D

I'm not afraid of getting better, but nowadays I can't get rid of the feeling that will be pretty much pointless. I'm trying to improve out of inertia but without any enthusiasm. I've been told that I must build the motivation all by myself, and I'm having a hard time believing that and I'm not sure what to do to feel better.

Sorry for not having a story of being over that feeling, I hope some else here can share it.

Why are you afraid of getting better? I don't think it's a matter to be afraid of.

I'm glad your not cause its making it hard for me to get better lol

I'm hopeful it won't be pointless cause one day I'll have to take care of myself and if I can't get over this that's gonna be hard.

Inertia? Sorry I'm kinda confused.

Its ok I'm thankful you replied :D

I'm used to my parents taking care of everything and its just scary the idea of having to grow up and get a job and making friends that's why I'm afraid of getting better.

You might end up being surprised just how well you can take care of yourself.
I was terrified of having to leave home and take care of myself like you. My mum unfortunately kicked me out of the house, so I had no choice.
However I was amazed how well I was able to take care of myself and this helped my self-esteem tremendously.
Trust your ability to manage looking after yourself, you may be surprised how well you can do it after all.:)

Oh, I didn't think about it under that perspective. You have a point, indeed.
I'm also used to live with my parents and the idea of being alone is scary enough, after all...

Yea lol Exactly! It's not even the having to take care of myself it's the having to be alone cause I'm not very good with people so I can't see myself having someone to keep me company :/
