Hey all. Seeing as we have a healthy thread going on about "songs that get to you," and I guess that usually doesn't mean they're too happy
, I figured I'd start this thread to complement the other one. This one is dedicated to upbeat songs. Ones you can play loud, pump your fists to. Maybe even songs to make you get up on your feet and dance a bit.
Here's what I have to contribute:
"Good Weekend" by Art Brut. It's a very zany song, and I'm pretty sure it's British (I think we have a lot of folks from the UK here, yes?). Anyway, I laughed pretty good when I heard this lyric: "I've seen her naked twice! I've seen her naked... TWICE!"
"The Woman on the Screen" by Boris. This one is from their new album Pink, which is supposedly their best. A driving song if I've ever heard one, but you'll speed for sure listening to it. Hard rock at it's best. Love the tambourine shakes. Oh yea, and it's Japanese. How cool is that?
"Into the Drink" by Mudhoney. Straight out of the early 90's grunge scene, this band is actually still going. The music video for this one is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bKcEiBd99o If you like this, look for the song "It Is Us" on YouTube, because the video is hilarious.
What do you all listen to when you're in the mood for some upbeat tunes?
