First Job

I have social phobia and it's been preventing me to get a job for ages...I'm 19 and have absolutely no work experience. I've avoided getting a job for so long, and now my parents are forcing me to get one like NOW so I have to get over my social phobia and just do it! I went to the mall today and asked for applications to a couple of clothing stores and even that made me a little bit nervous. I just don't see how I will be able to withhold a job that you are constantly observed in, let alone survive the interview if I get one. Its times like these where I just pray to God to help make me more "normal"...I would love to have a job, have money, make new friends and actually have a life! But social phobia is making me so terrified, I just need some tips or a boost of confidence. I'm feeling pretty low.

actually the first steps to getting a job then interview are the easiest ones, because no one knows you and even if you act strange or lost people dont judge you, because when you start youre supposted to make mistakes or be lost :) so set your aims and go for it.

Just try your best, most of the times you will come out ok,from my experiences interviews are pretty easy questions, when the job is easy, low salary,if they need someone at the moment they will hire you, what gets me is that i have to do in another language...

Like Rodox said, interviews at these kinds of jobs are largely formality. If they have an opening and they don't feel like you give off... I don't know, criminal vibes or something you stand as good a chance as the next person at getting the job.

They'll probably ask things like: what is your work experience? What times can you work? etc. Simple stuff. They may want referrals, since you don't have a previous employer just put family members or other people you know.

In all it should be a pretty simple ordeal. Although if you don't want to work somewhere as crowded as a mall, maybe hunt around for a quieter place to work? Like a warehouse or something, they often hire teenagers for summer jobs.
