Family Estrangement

Is anyone estranged from their family? I have not seenhardly any family member in 3 years. I am afraid to goto any kind of family gathering. I feel sometimes like I have disappointed my family. It's weird because I'm not like that to co-workers, or friends.

I see my immediate family regularly, but have not kept in touch with any relatives. I even avoided my cousin's wedding because I was too scared to go. That was 9 years ago when I was living at home. Since then I have not seen or heard from any relatives. I dread the day I see them again, most likely at some unavoidable family event.
