Estrangement from family due to SA?

Is anyone here estranged from their family due to their social anxiety, and if so, how do you cope with it?

My mum always forced me to go to my grandpa's birthday party because otherwise I wouldn't see no one of the family. The last 2 times we had one of those 'parties' i didn't go. Short after that my grandfather died, I didn't see him for 2 years. Last time I saw him was when they showed his body before the funeral. He was the only one I saw for at least once a year until I got too scared to go to one of those family reunions. Now I don't see any family at all, not my mums family, and never did my dad's family. He doesn't have contact with his family either except for 1 brother, but due to other reasons. I didn't like any of them anyway .. I just feel guilty that I didn't visit my grandfather more often, SA or not ..
