I know i may sound ungratefull but i'm embarassed about being seen with my parents. Things like going around shops, going for meals, going to the cinema, i'm always ashamed because i'm 26 years old and most people have their own lives at a much younger age, and i always feel that people are laughing at me because i'm this loner who has no friends, so has to hang around with his parents instead.

Now I go everywhere alone and avoid my parents as much as possible.

I just got back from a meal with my parents - and, well, I hated it. I don't have a problem to hang out with my parents, but I realized that spending times with my parents has a very negative impact on me. They are: unhappy, social-phobic, abusive, manipulative, unreliable, naieve and unable to hold anything or anyone.

You know what? If you have a functioning relationship with your parents, forget any worries (which, of course, is not that easy to do) and enjoy their company.

Hell yes

Its harder to get some respect as an individual when you need your mom to do things for you and is usually around you all the time

sometimes when we go out to eat I'll feel really depressed because it just reminds me of my 'problem' and not having any friends. I just don't like doing stuff together anymore.
