Emails from "friends" ??

Hi :)

There's only one person in "real life" that I could even possibly call a friend, & I really can't. We were best friends from the first grade on, but as we got older, because of my SA, we saw each other less & less. We rarely ever spoke or saw each other until she helped us move in January of '08. After that, we went over a year without seeing each other & finally started emailing this last winter to get back in touch. We saw each other a few months ago for the first time in close to a year & a half. Well............

The reason I'm posting this is because we haven't been in contact for a few months now. Since shortly after we saw each other, even though things went well. She even said while I was there that she wants us to be close like we used to be & that she still considers me her best friend, even though we never see each other. I know it's because we've been "friends" since we were six. Things actually got better immediately after we saw each other & we were in contact even more often. I emailed her last, but she never responded to it. She does, however, send me messages every week it seems, that were forwarded to her by other people. I'm constantly getting forwarded messages from her, but none actually from her. So, my question is.....

What should I do about these messages? Should I respond to them? Or just ignore them like I've been doing? Could this be her attempt to start communicating with me again?
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do & I'm hoping someone can give me some insight.
Thanks :).

I don't think you need to respond to the forwarded messages... these are basically like spam that people like to send out to everyone on their contact list and doesn't usually merit a reply, and most likely would get ignored. I would just send another personal e-mail... maybe her not responding to the last one was an oversight, or she just got busy or something. If it's been a few months since the last one you sent, I would definitely just send another one to say hi, how have things been, etc. She may have even forgotten that you sent the last message, and has been waiting on you to get the conversation going again.
