Hey guys.
I want to ask whether I should waste my time and anxiety on making an extra special trip to my oh so impersonal doctor's practice for something;
The problem I have is with anxiety that has built up around a specific event. Most of the time I put unbelievable pressure on myself to succeed, so when it goes horribly wrong I get ill from depression for months on end.
Soon I will be taking my practicle motorbike test. I know for certain how I will feel on the morning of the test - dizzy, nauseous, clumsy, on the brink of a panic attack. Now I can practice and practice but my problem is that even though I know I can pass and that I am a safe and sensible driver, those test-day nerves will get the better of me. I may even be so dizzy that it wouldn't be safe to ride.
So, can a doctor prescribe anything to help me get through such an event? Or will most anti-anxiety medicines mean that I get nicked for driving under the influence? 8O
And if its unlikely I can get medical help, does anyone have any tips that I can use on the day to help me relax?
