Drinking a few- for a Job Interview

Every time I've gone for a job interview, I usually put back 3 beers to loosen myself up. It seems to be the only way I can loosen up and show some personality. I should point out, 3 is enough to relax me, but not enough to make me drunk and stupid. I can still give intelligent answers.
I really don't want to do this, but the last time I had an interview beer-free, my social anxiety kicked in and I (and the interviewer) got very uncomfortable due to my nervousness.
Anyone relate to this?

I know how you feel, You could try put some deodorant on after having yr drinks, also some chewing gum helps and brushing yr teeth too.

I should point out that I do go to great lenghts to make sure I don't smell of beer. Nothing would end an interview quicker then an applicant reeking of booze.
Basically, my goal this year is to confront this SA problem so I don't have to do these things. I would prefer to do an interview (or any social situation) without the use of alcohol, etc. One step at a time though-I need to work!:)

Try thinking about the interview from the interviewers point of view, hes just a normal guy, hes no one speacial, just someone doing a job.

In my job a new boy started about 6 months ago, he was only 16 he would hardly say a word, i asked him the usual stuff when getting to know someone just to break the ice, i asked him if he had any brothers or sisters, he told me he had one bro and 2 sisters but it turned out he only had 1 bro and no sisters and he said it was cause he was nervous that he said it, his right leg was shaking like mad from nervous and it was only me he was talking too. I was thinking to my self whys he like this with me, iam just a normal guy doing a job, iam no one special but from his point of view he seen the situation diffrently.

Iam rabbling a little bit here but my point is dont think of other people as being more important than you, if the job is meant for you then you will get it but if its not for you then you wont get it, just relax and be yourself :D

bro i know plenty of people who have freaked out during job interviews and they're usually just fine.

the interviewer knows it will be nerve racking for anyone they interview. its just life. any interviewer who doesnt expect you to be flippin out is either new or straight up shouldnt be there.

if a few beers knock you into gear, i dont see anything wrong, except if its constant, but if you have nomore than 1 interview a week itll be fine if your drinking. we all deal with life differently. people throw up, people choke, other people talk way too fast, others drink so they feel relaxed.

i hate interviews!..but i dont think u should drink. Like som1 said if they smell booze on ur breath u wont have much chance of getting the job unless its wine tasting or something (hehe).

Tell the interview people you are nervous...i have had interviews where i have told them and where i havent told them. Both occasions i got the job so it wont do u any harm to say ur a nervous person.
